My life without a computer, not to be dramatic, is torture. I mean, really. I cannot get my writing done. I cannot edit any youtube vlogs or other videos. I cannot edit my podcast. I am not the type of person who can record, write, or speak even correctly on the first try. I need editing. I need the ability to take a moment and see the whole picture too.
I also find myself forgetting tasks and the inability to explore new information. This for me is especially soul sucking. How can I not do research??? That basically is the only thing that gives me the will to live. Ok this part is a bit dramatic yes.
I need to be able to look up info on a computer and edit and play video games. How could I forget about video games? I love PC gaming. Maybe more than I have time for. But also I attend all my classes online. So what kind of student would I be if I learned on my phone? With that tiny screen and low volume I would never understand the topics. I would not be able to study. And if I couldn’t go to my classes online, I would fail out of college. The only reason I am able to attend is because the course is open to online or in person. I am not even supposed to be online, I have a special exception.
No no, I need my computer. It is the one thing in my home I would grab in a fire…Assuming pets and people are already safe. Y’all I am not a monster. But my computer is like a part of me. It may sound dumb, but writing has saved me. Making these stupid little videos gives me the motivation to be a semi functional member of society. Without it and the things I am able to create, what would my life even look like?
I have fibromyaglia and a bunch of other problems too. So not being able to work, I would go crazy without projects. I need to feel like I am creating something, like I am doing something. Whether that be a vlog or a blog, I need to be doing something. I need my computer.

I’d like to say I could live without my computer or any other technology. But I would be lying. There was a time however, I really had none of this so how in the world did I survive.
1. Television growing up until I was 18 – 1 TV, Black & White, 3 channels, turned off after the 11 o’clock news.
2. Telephone – first was a party line with an entire block of neighbors, then one phone in the house for everyone with limited time each. Then two phones. When I got my own place I got my first designer phone, A Mickey Mouse phone, then, Pac Man, etc. Come to 1994 and we got our first DOS run PC, and 1996 came AOL. Fast forward about a new cell phone every few years and walking around with a camera, phone, computer, gaming system, notebooks, etc. all in one place.
So now I say, I definitely couldn’t live without my phone or any other technological item that makes my life easier and hassle free.
