What brings you peace?
Sipping my coffee uninterrupted brings me much peace. Taking deep breathes and listening to the ocean or the sea. The waves crashing on the shore. Digging my feet into the sand and skipping rocks calms me. I have a place in my mind and in this world that I have never been unhappy at.
Few know it. And few would know which one I speak about. As it is the sea, that opens many doors and thousands of beaches. But yes, my happy place is the seaside. The calm pebbly beach and the cool crisp air. The beach is empty, it’s winter. Traffic near is infrequent and does not intrude on the scene. The waves break consistently as if on a timer. The wind blows and howls through the large rocks adding to the music of the shore. Boats hum off in the distance. It is the perfect place to be alone or with your loved ones. It can be a place for either. It can be whatever you need it to be.
When I am stressed, I am there in my mind, I hear the waves, smell the sea air, and feel the wind on my face.
This is my peace and it will remain with me until I am so old I lose all my memories. Truthfully, even then I will find this place again in my mind. Maybe it will be all I know and in my fully demented state, I will forever think I am there at the beach on the perfect cool day. In my sweater and boots I will sit by the sea and find my final peace.
But now I consider myself young, so this isn’t the end and I can go there soon. The weather will turn and I will find autumn peace and tranquility. I hope to keep this peace with me my whole life, and many more happy memories with it.
As always, wishing you all well and happiness too. Thanks for reading.

Well written. I also find peace when I am alone at the beach. I love it best when it is just a bit overcast and the storm is still a ways off but I can enjoy the cool breezes instead of the scorching sun. I love to sit on a towel or beach chair with my journal. Listening to the waves roll in and out calms me so I can quite my thoughts to only that what I want to write about. I have always loved the beach. I love collecting sea shells, driftwood and sea glass. I take it home with me and when I look at it or handle my precious treasures I am instantly brought back to that peace of the seaside and waves.
